          American information scientist (1930–2024)

          Tefko Saracevic (November 24, 1930 – October 5, 2024) was a Croatian-born American information scientist who was professor emeritus at the School of Communication and Information at Rutgers University.

          He was a contributor to the theoretical concept of relevance [1] and a prominent information scientist.[2] He has been President of the Association for Information Science and Technology[3]

          Early life and education

          Saracevic was born in Zagreb, Croatia, on November 24, 1930, and came to the U.S.

          in 1959; becoming a naturalized citizen in 1964.
